Flying South on Your Tailgate: The HUNTING 01 Goose Bed Stripe Kit

HUNTING 01 vertical truck bed stripe: a tall black stripe with a white circle and a flying Canada goose silhouette
One stripe from the HUNTING 01 combo kit, with its flying Canada goose silhouette.

It's 5:40 a.m. at a gravel pull-off along the Kankakee. Breath fog, thermos coffee, the dog vibrating with excitement in the back seat. Somewhere overhead, the first V of geese is calling. And parked right there in the dark is your truck, with a flying goose on each side of the bed that tells everyone exactly why you're up this early.

That's the HUNTING 01 truck bed stripes combo kit: a tall black vertical stripe with a white circle and a Canada goose in full flight. It's clean, it's bold, and it's not tied to any brand.

What's in the kit

Fitting it to your truck

Vertical stripes look best on the flat part of the bed side, just ahead of the rear wheel opening. Measure the flat height there before you start. Body lines and fender flares vary from truck to truck, and you want the stripe sitting on smooth paint, not bridging a crease. The tailgate stripe usually centers just off the handle, and the hood sticker can go dead center or offset toward the driver's side.

Install tips from a local sign shop

  1. Wash and dry the truck, then wipe each spot with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the stripe in place with painter's tape and check it from across the driveway.
  3. Use the "hinge" method: tape across the middle, peel the backing from one half, and squeegee from the center out. Then do the other half.
  4. Install in a garage if you can. Vinyl goes on best when it's not cold out, and Northwest Indiana mornings in late fall can be chilly.

Timing: get it on before the next cold front

Fall waterfowl season is here, and the truck is going to be out there either way. The kit ships the next business day, with free standard shipping on U.S. orders over $55. Want a custom bed stripe with your own design instead? Email your idea and measurements to [email protected] for a free quote.
